Nigel's professional experience encompasses both consulting and leadership of companies. Nigel has played a leading role in shaping the development of the digital media and telecommunication industries in Australia and has a strong background in strategy consulting, most recently advising Hutchison Whampoa on its telecommunication strategy and prior to that as CEO of Vodafone Hutchison Australia, 3 mobile, and Fairfax Digital.

Earlier in his career, Nigel worked with Reserve Bank of Australia and then spent five years in strategy consulting with McKinsey and Company.

After leaving McKinsey, Nigel was involved in the beginning of the digital media revolution in Australia as start-up CEO of Fairfax Digital for most of its first seven years.

In 2003 Nigel joined Hutchison first as Marketing and Sales Director, and then as CEO of Hutchison Whampoa's 3 mobile business in Australia. He then led the merger of 3 with Vodafone in 2009 and became the founding CEO of the Hutchison Vodafone Australia joint venture, trading as Vodafone, Australia's 3rd largest telecoms company.

Prior to joining Port Jackson Partners, Nigel has spent time as Senior Advisor to the Managing Director of Hutchison Whampoa, in Hong Kong. Amongst other things he has led a project team developing a new business start-up in Europe.

Nigel has a first class honours degree in Economics with University Medal from James Cook University and also has an MBA with Distinction from the London Business School.

Nigel is married to Sally and they have 3 children, Tom, Hannah and Sophie. As a family they enjoy many outdoor pursuits together.
