Daniel Vijayakumar

Business Analyst

Back to people listing

I followed an unusual path into consulting. During high school and university, I was actively involved in playing, recording and marketing music. This experience gave me exposure to the basic principles of running a business and led me to pursue a degree in commerce and economics. During my penultimate year at UNSW, I interned at a global consumer goods company and gained exposure to the marketing and sales functions. After graduating, I worked for two years at a global management consulting firm, specialising in process improvement across Australian telecommunications companies. I joined PJP to gain exposure to a variety of industries and be more actively involved in strategic decision making.

Flexibility

PJP's low leverage model and flat structure promotes a culture of flexibility and openness. In contrast to other larger consulting firms, the PJP work environment enables everyone (across all levels of experience) to interact on a regular basis. As a result, we develop close personal relationships across the organisation, which strengthens our collaboration on projects.

Work satisfaction

PJP's clients tend to be large, high performing Australian corporations. As a result, the work that we do typically has a significant influence on both the Australian economy and broader community.

Being involved in guiding decisions that have a profound impact on society is one of the most satisfying aspects of the job.
